I don’t even know what I’m going to do with this car but I got her for $300 and it’s a solid body with a good frame and next to no rust! Other than some great stuff the insulating foam… in one of the quarters it’s an original paint LT! Even the hood and fenders are in great shape and were just taken off the car
My first thoughts are throw in a carbed 5.3L and play... but we will see what happens I dropped her off this afternoon with the other cars waiting their turn.

I like the 4.8 or 5.3L boosted combo but will most likely go 4L60. I can get a 4.8L/4L60 or 5.3L/4L60 combo for under $800 and make her completely out of spare parts…
As of right now it resting on some family property out of the rain in an old cow barn so we will see what happens…

found a 79K mile 4.8L/4l60 for $330 local... i think im sold on the 81 nose and fenders for the fast times at ridgemont high look.

Picked up some 78 Z28 Fenders with the vents, the front core support, bumper structure and inner fenders wheels.
All I need now is a nose and I think I’m going to get a new one instead of reworking a sun faded and warped OEM unit. www.YearOne.com (http://www.YearOne.com) got some got some decent prices and are local here in GA.
Also had the parts picked up and blasted and repaired by the guys at

These guys also saved my 68 SS/RS 396 vert camaro and do a incredible job

Hey guys little update, we got one of the Heidt's Hot Rod Shop
for the 1970-1981 F-Bodys for a quick mock up for a fast paced 1973 Z28 build from DZ customs that was in need of a real LSX swap kit and hedders for this extremely capable frame. I happen to have a 76 camaro laying around…
happens when you have 8 cars. But anyway since my camaro had no front clip due to the guys at Rustbusters media blasting the front clip, core support and hood off a 1981 Z28. After about 30 mins the 76 was prepped and ready for the new frame.
After a couple hours the Heidt's frame was built and ready to install.
We slapped on a set of Zr1 to clear the brakes and rolled the frame under the camaro
The frame rolled right under lined up easy and bolted everything up on the 76.
As of right now we are develping a LSX swap kit and are going to make several hedder options for this frame up to 2in primaries with 3 Ѕ collectors to clear with this set up and retain the re-buildable bushing design standard in the Muscle Rod line.

Update on the build, we built a set of hedders on the frame that tuck up extremely close to the body for maximum ground clearance even with the 2in primaries and 3 Ѕ collector shown! I have our crossmember ready which will be a direct bolt in using the mounting tabs on the frame. The frame mounts and engine brackets are in design but placement of the motor has been finalized. The first set of prototype hedders and kit will be shipped over to D & Z customer so look out for a supercharged LS based 73 Z28 coming from these guys with 1 7/8 stepped to 2in with a 3in collector.

I picked up a 81 cowl hood, and have two sets of z28 fenders the 81 style and the 78 z28.
As of right now its going to be all red with the 78Z28 hood and 81 fender vents and a 81 z28 nose.
the front has all been blasted i painted it with primer this weekend.
Also got the wilwood replacement front brakes with new rotors and pads from www.RotorsOnline.com to keep on budget and will get the parts on the car here very soon.
so if anyone needs a cowl 81 z28 hood let me know

new 5.3L 799 Heads even trade for the 317
LS1 Oil pan,
Core 3 front 13 in brakes
98-02 Camaro rear brakes.
Its getting prepped for paint and i just finished rebuilding the OEM Subframe. Im hoping to have this done in a couple months.

Ill be getting some better pics up this week. i have been in China a lot over the last months and finally have some time to get back to work.
The motor is being stepped up to a 427 .60 over 6.0L with a monster stroker crank. It comes out to 425 but its close enough to a 427 for me lol. It’s got some L92 heads and an Ls3 intake with a custom dip for a carbon and aluminum look.
The frame will be back in the car next week and ill have it rolling and getting ready for paint.

I am working with a company to make the headers for me at a great price in stainless. The company makes SBC headers for the US market so if the quality is there I’ll have a great source on reasonably priced headers for the US market.

I love the car Shawn!
I had a 76 and gave it to my wife and then did the unthinkable... traded it for a blazer I kept for a whole week, I still get an earful over it. I have to keep the pics of it at work so i don't get killed in my sleep.

Just send the body to be sand blasted by Grave Robbers. These guys do great work and are located in Cumming. They do all the sheet metal and rust repair. So far the only problem spot on the whole car is on the PS quarter panel. A small amount of rust and a light fender bender where hiding under a light coat of bondo.
