Shown is the strock truck intake. To the left of is is another truck motor with a car LS intake. The throttle body will contact the water pump not allowing it to be installe.d

On the non VVT truck motors the outlet on the water pump will contact any car intake. The trick is to use the 2007+ VVT truck water pumps. The VVT water pumps are offset to clear the VVT timing cover. The benefit is that the offset changes the angle on the outlet on the water pump. With this offset a car intake with either the cable or drive by wire throttle body will clear. The only needed change is to change the position of the clamp.

Here a 2008 LY6 is shown with a LS3 intake on the motor and the VVT water pump

The end result is better hood clearance and tremendously improved looks

This seems to work well, unless you go with the car TB off a L98 DBW it inteferes with the w/pump outlet. I'm chasing an VVT waterpump at the momnet.

retrolsx, thanks for your info. I need some help with specifics to complete the pass car intake swap to finalize and make the engine run in my '65 corvette. The eng runs fine now, I have been driving the car but have hood fit issues. Will my DBW '03 LQ9 injectors work in a car intake? Will my fuel rails work? The cross over looks taller. If not what what rails will I need to aquire? Can I mod my fuel rails and cross over to work? I am using a return line. Which intakes do I need to look for? My throttle body will mount to the car manifold? What else will I need to complete this intake swap and turn the key? What am I overlooking? Thanks for your time...
Frank

OK so I have done some research. I hope I don't sound too incompetent here - actually I'm quite mechanical, I just have little experience with LS engines. Am I correct to think that ls1, ls2, or ls3 intake manifolds will work on my '03 lq4? Now I need to know if the lq4 dbw throttle body assy will mount to these manifolds [with the prescribed later water pump of course]. I understand that I will need to use the the fuel rails for for the car manifolds. Will a fuel rail from an ls1 manifold fit an ls2-3 manifold etc? Will my lq4 injectors fit the car manifold? Will I require a "tune" after the simple manifold swap?
Thanks for any enlightenment,
Frank
