Want to paint my engine .what prep work needs to be done?Do I use primer? What type and brand of paint works best? Thinking of doing silver.... Thanks..

The surface needs to be clean and oil free.

Dupi-color (they have Ceramic in the paint) or VHT is your best bet. they also have primer and clears.. .. most parts stores should care a good selection of the colors.

Also Eastwood has some good engine paints..

Sounds good....what's a good degreaser to use.engine not really dirty but still want to give it a good pressurewashing...ware can I find those plugs that I c in everybody use for tb and heads ..

I just used Brake Cleaner then Simple Green.

Used Tape across the ports and openings and stuffed old plastic bags in the ports to help make sure the nothng gets in.

Used a bunch of old bolts to plug threaded holes..

Others may have other methods or tips...

I want to do alum or silver color but was afraid it would a nightmare to keep clean when putting the engine in and down the road.I was thinking glossy black engine bay and silver engine. Any suggestions? What combo looks good under the hood??//

what color is the car ?

Is this going to be a Daily Driver or just weekend and ??.. if so, with as little time on the road, I would worry about it.

She is going to be kandi blue with blue interior.and its going to be a weekend ride..

It should look good, but it's really your choice on Color and accessories. browse some magazines and hit some car show to look for what you think you like.
