Truck Engine w/ Top Fire

Anyone ever deal with an insurance engine listed in car-part.com as having a "top fire"? Since a truck motor would likely need a car intake to fit in my Monte without hood mods, would it make sense to try something like this?

I have no experience but people seem to do it. The engine would have to be super cheap for me to try it though, since with patience cheap deals on non-crispy motors do pop up from time to time.

I picked up a LS2 that had a "light Fire" the motor look good bust the fire had rusted a cylinder which meant the whole motor had to be rebuilt. I would take a socket and turn the motor over on any used engine to ensure its not locked up and look for melted plastic in the intake ports of the heads
