GTO Wreck - Engine Swap into 84 Monte Carlo SS

Here is my idea. I buy a 2006 GTO insurance wreck for say $4000, use the motor, wiring harness, transmission and other miscellaneous parts for a swap into my '84 Monte Carlo SS, and sell other usable parts say on Craigslist or something. What do you guys think?

I say it sounds like an excellent idea and a good start for a new project! It'll definitely breathe some new life into that Monte. Make sure you pull the gas pedal for the DBW too!

if you can get it for $4 its a great price. the 05-06 GTOs can still go for about 5000-6500 down here. If you get a nice black interior and dash i might even get it from you.

Sound like a Plan. That is pertty much how I am doing my 71 Nova.. froma 02 Z28.. got it for a steal.. $1700 was still running and drove it on to the trailer..

I Parted it out and got rid of the body.. I still have the engine, Trans, brakes for the swap and many other misc parts, but I am about $2000+ up (I sold most of the parts pertty cheap at times, just to move them), and using the cash for swap parts and engine upgrades. It just take time to part out, list ads on CL and forums and ship the parts out if not the buys are not local.
