Hi guys my name is Andrew I live in Central NE. I own a 98 T/A. Just finishing up a heads, cam, n2o build. But the reason Im joining is to get info on Swaping these things into older rides. I am currently trying to talk my lil brother who is stationed in Utah, to swap a 5.3/4l60e into his 70 EL. Ive think ive almost got him convinced but still havnt decided what to do yet.

This is my ride

I keep telling him let put a cam'd 5.3 and built 4L60e in there and it will be atleast as fast as it is now and he will get 20+mpg on the hiway, on PUMP GAS.....

you could easily get that 20 MPG with a junkyard 5,3L with just a used 2002-2004 Z06 camshaft. The pullout would be only about $1000 or less and you could sell the old motor to recoup most the cost of the 5.3L. Also the 98-02 camaro brakes are a easy swap to slow it down once its up to the modern age.
