What's everyone's opinion on the best G Body LS1 motor mount set up? I will probably just stay with the factory exhaust manifolds for now. Also, when you use a Z-06 manifold, do you have to get rid of the emmissions stuff as maybe the Z06 didn't have that stuff? I'm a little unclear on that right now from the research I've done.
Engine is LS1 1 with 4L60E out of a 2001 TransAm.
I will try and post pics as I work through all of this.

are you talking about the Z06 intake ?.. or exhaust.
if you are required to have a smog test, you might have to keep all of the equipement for Smog. If your not having to pass any test. you can get rid of the EGR and AIR if they are there.. a 01 LS1 should have any EGR but does have the AIR pump. (Z06 LS1/6 didn't have EGR)
If Exhaust - You need to check to see if the exit point of the exhaust will clear your Cross member. (maybe someone can tell you for sure).
Hope that helps some.

I was talking intake so I think you answered me. What is your preference on the motor mounts?

For my Chevelle, I made my own from the BRP template. I had also tried standard plates (S&P style). but since I was using the LS1 Compressor, I when with the BRP, Notched the frame and posistioned they Engine/trans were I wanted it which was the way to go for rolling your own.
But if your going to buy your mount, Headers and crossmember. They all work and have there pro and con's. but stick with the same manufactor, don't mix and match unless you know they work together.
Shawn should be coming out with his. And should be a good setup and cheaper that the other (Hooker, Edelbrock, etc).
It just comes down to price and what you like about the mount or kit.
Not much help.. huh ... LOL.. just go with what you like, can aford and what works the best for your application and setup.
