title says it all.

swapping a stock lm7 into an 89 firebird, using stock 4th gen fbod manifolds and a carb setup.

saw the site and thought it would be worth a visit.

Thats a good combo we have a couple third gens we are building and planning to make some headers for in the near future. The LM7 is a killler motor. I had one with just a 2002 LS6 cam and matching car intake that made 336 at the rear wheels. They a great budget build. Where are you at in the swap?

it is an 89 firebird, hardtop, no option car. it came with a new front fender and front bumper. bear in mind my detached garage is not heated and i live in central indiana.

as the car sits it needs everything bolted back onto the front of the car. the doghouse, any wiring, anything that could be bolted to it...is completely removed. it's ready to accept the engine, the factory kmember has been swapped with one from an 87 iroc that already has lsx mounts. i've been stockpiling parts this winter. i've got everything i need except an intake, carb, and the required msd6010 box. i figure i'll have it on the road by september or so. i work slow haha.

this truly has been a budget build. a good friend GAVE me a complete 2002 lm7. another good friend gave me anything and everything v8 for these cars. at this point i legitmately have less than $1000 in this build, all of the parts i need minus those mentioned, and a straight 75k mile car to put it all on. by far, the largest single purchase i will make is going to be the torque converter.

final product should look something like this:

stockish lm7 with vic jr and quadrajunk
stock 00 ls1 fbod exhaust manifolds (with a cutout)
th350 w/5k stall converter
stock springs with adj shocks all 4 corners
spohn non-adj ch***is mount torque arm
stock rearend with locker (interested to see how long this will last haha)

my goal is to go 11.80s on that setup. i got that 3600lb tank down to 12.teens @ 111 with boltons, so i think this is definately doable. after i meet that goal i plan to add headers, a big cam and some head work. i have an ls1 rod/piston combo that will go in the motor if it gives me any trouble.
