Well, started my project, 86 Monte Carlo SS\LS2 swap, and found this forum from the LS1tech side..

I have followed the lead set and inspired by John Bzdel along with the purchase of his motor mounts..

Motor and trans is out of an 05 GTO, its a LS2 DBW and 4L65E trans..

I have a harness, ecu, tac module and pedal from Howell EFI.. initial goal is to have a low 12 sec car that still has all the stock amenities including cruise and AC...

At some point will probably go FI but wanted to get my feet wet first with the LSX NA first..

Nice to hear there will be a stainless header for my application..

added a few pics of the before, removal and current state... anxiosly waiting for stainless headers:D..

That’s a great looking car! A good cam will really wake up that LS2 before you go FI if you want to play with the NA set up. As for Howell EFI set ups i have had great luck and I’m working with them on a couple projects now and have had a great experience so far.

Thanks!.. Yeah as soon as I get my feet wet with some tuning the next plunge will be a cam..

I have to say I agree with Howell EFI.. They have been very helpful and the harness is top notch..

Any update on the G-body stainless headers? Sorry, I just had to ask..

Clean SS. Good luck with the swap. Shawn and Bart have my Aero and headers and the rest of the "kit" will be out soon. I am doing the LY6 with 4L85E swap.

I have seen the pictures of your Areo and heard the details of mods.. Very nice..

I had an Aero once upon a time but got rid of it... It was a nice car..

Good luck with your swap.. and let me know how those headers are looking when you can get some pictures...:D

I sure will. Progress is being made and it should not be long before some realy nice parts are made for our G Bodies! Shawn, Bart and the boys are good to work with and I am excited to be connected to them.

We are having the headers built on Bradshaws car in about 1 week. We are also testing out the new painless VVT harness on his car so ill let you know how this new one works out. It looks like a soild kit thats compact and can easialy be hid for a clean install.

The time to production headers is taken a while due to the 5 we have dropped off that are currently getting built and retest

That is SSwet news on the headers. I'll be writing check again for sure!
