I see from a LS1 Tech post you were previously affiliated with BRP. I am using their mounts to put a late 2007 6.0 LY6 / 6L90E combo into my Cutlass. I've already had the wiring and ECM converted to stand alone, and will be starting the test fitting soon. Then it will be off with the body and the fun begins.
I look forward to seeing your products, especially the headers.

I did come up with a swap question I figure I'll throw at you. With the move to the 6.0 I am retaining the newer power steering pump. At the same time I would like to upgrade to a quicker ratio steering box. What gear box can I use to be able to use the newer power steering hoses with the same fittings? Will the one from the donor truck work (I dont know the ratio)?

Will you be making the 12 bolt disc conversions?

How about a part number for the yoke for the 6l90E?

rick,

sounds like a fun swap. With that 6 speed you might want to do the install with the body on the frame. The BRP set up was never built on a 6 -speed auto and has not been tested. Be sure to test fit before final install. Also check the pinion angle on the swap

The best steering box I have heard for low cost is the 93-98 Jeep grand Cherokee
Most people get custom hoses made to go from the metric PS pump the STD PS gear box. Do you have a hydraulic company near you?
Not sure on the Yoke PN but you will need the Pontiac G8 transmission cover though for ground clearance.

I will definately get the engine and trans set before removing the body. It will be the template for the gap in the trans tunnel, and will be duplicated and filled while the floor pans are being replaced.

Thanks for the heads up on the BRP kit. The gentleman on the phone said it would have the correct pinion angle, and had the same mounting point as a 4L80E. Damn salesmen. I will get the angle finder out and check it.

We have some great hydraulic shops locally, for the custom hoses. I want to keep most of the parts on this as "off the shelf" as possible. Great for piece of mind when you are far from home.

I will get a trans pan too. Didn't know that one. I would guess I need the Pontiac filter also?

Thanks for the advice,
Rick
