I am new to this forum but I hang out on Malibu Racing, LS1Tech, NMCA, NMRa and Yellow Bullet, I have an 80 Malibu driver that will be getting a 5.3/4L60E swap soon. I am looking for tips and tricks to help with the conversion.

Welcome to the site! i linked a great build from Malibu racing on the owners sons early G-body with a 4.8L swap.

Im sure you’ve read it but its got some great info.

The 87 4.3L gas tank is a great option and keeps cost down
Which 5.3L are you looking at? I have some super low mile all aluminum 5.3L 4L65 combos from new Silverado’s if you after that? Or the tried and true LM7 cast iron 5.3L are just about everywhere at killer deals.
