I’m doing a 79 4wd truck, for my first conversion kit and headers. I think the in set back plates will give you a good starting point. If you have to you can slide the whole frame mounts back and redrill the frame holes to give you the best set up. Il have some mounts but it will not be till about January.

are you going efi or carb

I ran the OEM pushrods with the LS6 cam for 2 years and never had a issuie. I will be making a new line of mounts but there is a lot of options and the trucks big frame and wide engine bay make it an easier install

My motor had 33K so i just put the old one back on the motor and ran it for about 20K before i sold the car.

We just did a heads and cam swap on a 189k mile engine. We did however change the timing chain, but it was not any more sloppy than a 60k mile chain.

here are a few pics of my ls based 81 c10

This is a poor picture but the truck manis did not work for me. You may be able to get them to work, but I picked up a set of 2000-2002 fbody manifolds for it and they fit like a champ.

That looks great :D What motor mounts did you use? Could you tell me the radiator hoses you used Upper and Lower with the stock radiator? I am doing the same swap in a 79 Sierra. My LQ9 came out of a 2003 Yukon Denali with 45k. I am going to keep it stock for now.
