We have some GEN IV 6.0L blocks that are de stroked to 302 and can run the L92/LS3 heads for a high HP rev happy engine!

From my engine builder i found out i will have 2 versions of 302Ci engines that we are shooting for close to 9000RPM rev range!

My guess would be that it's a 6.0 LQ9 Block, and a 4.8 Crank.

if possible, yes you can use a smaller stroke crank form a simular engine, but most of the time for a stroke (decrease or increase) engine, a new forged crank would be the way to go, you can custom order them in the stroke you want or take a off the shelf one that some of the vendor/manufactors market.

I the older daysl. destroke was used a lot more that today.. due to the power levels to RPM range come in at. But Destroked engine are great for road racing ! and why they were great in the 67-69 Z28 in the transam days !

So are saying that destroking a engine is best for the engine if you're going to race it? Or is it cool to destroke a engine for street use also but just have a higher range of RPM's?
